Recap
In this lab the Red Hat Lightspeed team wanted to highlight a few different things.
In modules 2 (Red Hat Lightspeed via the Hybrid Cloud Console - Evaluate and remediate CVEs) and 3 (Red Hat Lightspeed via the Hybrid Cloud Console - Detect Malware) we highlighted services and capabilities of Red Hat Lightspeed on the Hybrid Cloud Console.
These two services are not part of the Red Hat Lightspeed advisor in Satellite technical preview capabilities, but they are services that are being considered for inclusion for a future release. The Red Hat Lightspeed team wanted you to get a feel for the capabilities and how they work.
In module 4 (Advisor recommendations in Satellite while connected) you experienced what the Red Hat Lightspeed advisor capability looks like inside of Red Hat Satellite. This experience has been there since approximately Satellite 6.4 and lets you see some of the value of Red Hat Lightspeed inside of the Red Hat Satellite user interface. This is also just the advisor service using the Satellite user interface.
In module 5 you installed the Red Hat Lightspeed advisor in Satellite technical preview. This is a podman container that disables some of the connectivity menu items inside of the Satellite user interface, but otherwise looks very similar to what you experienced in module 4. The Red Hat Lightspeed analysis happens right on the Satellite and no information leaves the Satellite.
Red Hat Lightspeed advisor in Satellite is available as a technical preview with the release of Satellite 6.17. Updates to Red Hat Lightspeed advisor in Satellite will be delivered in future Satellite releases - to get new advisor recommendations or newer Red Hat Lightspeed capabilities in future releases you will need to upgrade to the latest container image(s).
We encourage you to use Red Hat Lightspeed advisor in Satellite and share your feedback with the Red Hat Lightspeed team by emailing us at insights@redhat.com.
